Catching Fire - Chapter 10 Summary

·      Katniss doesn’t understand the Mockinjay symbol.

·      Bonnie and Twill explain to Katniss that they are dressed as peacekeepers as a disguise and that they are travelling to District 13 from District 8.

·      Katniss doesn’t think that District 13 exists.

·      They tell Katniss that a rebellion started in District 8 after the end of the Hunger Games, but no one outside of District 8 knows about the rebellion.

·      Twill and Bonnie worked together at a Uniform Factory, and Bonnie helped Twill sneak two uniforms away, so that Twill and her husband could escape District 8 and tell the other districts about the rebellion.

·      Following Katniss and Peeta’s tour, district 8 rebelled. Capitol forces came in and fought back.

·      Bonnie’s family and Twill’s husband got killed due to the Uniform Factory being bombed. Bonnie and Twill used the uniforms that they had kept and escaped.

·      Bonnie and Twill think the Capitol is hiding information about 13, and that people are still living there. They think this because of the newsreel that is used whenever 13 is talked about, which shows very old footage of the Justice Building.

·      Katniss still thinks it’s not possible that 13 survived. But she still teaches Bonnie and Twill basic survival skills and shares some supplies she had in her hunting bag.

·      While walking back to 12 Katniss thinks about the mockingjay sign and wonders whether Snow is manipulating her. She is about to go under the electric fence when she realizes its been switched on.
